The visit to the doctor was a roller coaster ride full of twist and turns, as our expectations were very high for a good report of health. Although we received some not so great news, we did received some great encouragement. We had anticipated that her lung function tests would be much better, Becca had not exhibit the symptoms to match her numbers. In fact, she did have some decrease in three areas ranging between 4 to 10 percent,( Few years ago she had far worse numbers), however, the doctor seems to think there are several reasons for the decline. First, dosing of her preventative medications Symbicort and Singuliar. Secondly, heading into rag weed season and she is reacting to the trigger. I am so confused by this because Becca has not once use a inhaler in the past four weeks. I will concede that I did wait to fill her meds because I felt that this doctor appointment might reveal a need to lower the dosage. Any ideas?
On the other hand, Becca’s doctor sees great improvements in relation to her growth, in fact she gain almost 7 pounds and close to 2 inches in height. This is very good news and she is on board with the Gluten Free diet in addition to using essential oils as a complimentary alternative remedy. Taking my concerns into consideration with relation to side affects that perhaps I should keep using the power of 3: Peppermint, Lavender and Lemon with honey as her antihistamine. Finally, she is very hopeful in a few years or so she could be off of her medications and only need the inhaler for emergencies. We left the hospital in tow of a new care plan that had the two prescription drugs and her rescue inhaler but the confirmation that I can use essential oils for her triggers. I feel very optimistic that when we go back next month, that along side with the essential oils, dosage of medication and diet that we will get the results we want. So until then, have a great night.
